Silke Vry

Silke Vry studied classical archaeology, art history and folklore in Kiel, Frankfurt and Berlin. She took part in excavations in Jordan, Syria and Germany and worked for a time in museum services and as a primary-school teacher. As an author, she specialized in archaeology for children and young adults and published numerous nonfiction and activity books with Prestel, Beltz & Gelberg, Gerstenberg and E. A. Seemanns BILDERBANDE, among others. Her works include “Lass krachen! Antike Erfindungen zum Nachbauen,” “Durch den Dschungel zu den Maya” and “Verborgene Schätze, versunkene Welten.” Several of her books were longlisted for the Science Book of the Year or Junior Knowledge Books awards. “Verborgene Schätze, versunkene Welten” was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize in 2018.
