Silke Scheuermann, born in Karlsruhe in 1973, is a writer and poet. She has written poetry, short stories, novels, and children’s books. Her works include the short-story collection “Reiche Mädchen” (2005), the novels “Die Stunde zwischen Hund und Wolf” (2007), “Shanghai Performance” (2011), “Die Häuser der anderen” (2012), and “Wovon wir lebten” (2016), as well as the children’s book “Emma James und die Zukunft der Schmetterlinge” (2010). Her literary honors include a Villa Massimo fellowship in Rome (2009), the Hölty Poetry Prize (2014), the Bertolt Brecht Prize and Robert Gernhardt Prize (both 2016), and the Georg Christoph Lichtenberg Prize (2017). She also held poetry lectureships in Wiesbaden (2012–13) and Frankfurt (2018).
