Sian James

Siân James (1930–2021), born Siân Davis in Ceredigion, was a Welsh award-winning author, translator and lecturer in creative writing. She published thirteen novels, two collections of short stories and a memoir. Recurring themes in her work include marriage and affairs, as well as relationships between women, particularly between mothers and daughters. Many of her novels are set in Wales. Her works include the 1975 novel *One Afternoon*, published in German as *Ein Nachmittag im Mai*.
