Shubhangi Swarup is an author, journalist, and educator. Her debut novel, *Latitudes of Longing* (German: *Breiten des Verlangens*), became an international bestseller and has been translated into 15 languages. The novel received the Sushila Devi Award and the Tata Literature Live! Award for debut novels, and was shortlisted for the JCB Prize for Indian Literature. Swarup also received the Charles Pick Scholarship for Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia.
