Sebastian Dickhaut (born 1963) is a German chef, food journalist, and cookbook author. After completing chef training, he worked for four years in Frankfurt’s fine-dining sector and then undertook a journalism traineeship at a Hessian daily newspaper. He subsequently worked for several years as an editor at a cookbook publisher before becoming a freelance author and journalist in 1995. He founded the restaurant guide “DelikatEssen” and, together with Sabine Sälzer, developed the concept for the “Basic cooking” cookbook series in 1998. His awards include a World Cookbook Award for “Basic cooking” in 1999 and a silver medal from the Gastronomische Akademie Deutschland for “Basic baking” in 2000.
