Saul Bellow

Saul Bellow (1915–2005) was a writer and university teacher. He was born in Lachine, Quebec, to Jewish-Russian immigrant parents and moved with his family to Chicago in 1924. He studied anthropology and sociology at Northwestern University. After holding various jobs, he taught at several American universities from 1938 onward, including Princeton and the University of Chicago. Bellow received numerous honors for his extensive literary work, including the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1976.
