Sarah Marquis

Born in 1972 in a mountain village in the Swiss Jura, Sarah Marquis is known for undertaking long-distance expeditions through remote regions. At the age of 17, she crossed central Anatolia on horseback. In 2000, she walked 4,260 kilometres from north to south across the United States in four months. During a 17-month stay in Australia in 2002 and 2003, she covered around 14,000 kilometres on foot. In 2006, she crossed the Andes from Chile through Bolivia to Peru, covering approximately 7,000 kilometres in eight months.
