Sandra Markewitz studied literary studies, philosophy and sociology in Bochum and Bielefeld. She earned a doctorate in philosophy with a dissertation on silence in Kafka’s diaries, published in 2006 as “Das Schweigen. Tautologizität in Kafkas Tagebüchern.” Her areas of research included Wittgenstein, philosophy of language, ethics and aesthetics, subjectivity and grammar. She also published work on Kleist and Karoline von Günderrode. Her book “Ein letzter Impressionist. Eduard von Keyserling und die Farben” was published by Aisthesis.
