Sahar Abdallah was born in Aden, Yemen, in 1980 and moved to Cairo with her family at the age of ten. She studied art education and painting at Helwan University in Cairo, and later worked as an art director for an Egyptian children’s magazine. Her children’s books have received several awards in the Arab world, including the Etisalat Prize in 2018 and 2021. Her book “Maimun” was her first publication in German.
