Sabine Weigand

Sabine Weigand comes from Franconia and holds a doctorate in history. She worked as an exhibition planner for museums and served as a member of the Bavarian Landtag. Historical source documents and the biographies of real women form the basis of her novels. Her works include “Die Markgräfin,” “Die Seelen im Feuer,” “Die Tore des Himmels,” “Die Manufaktur der Düfte,” and “Die englische Fürstin.” The latter draws on the life of Daisy von Pless. Weigand received the “Kulturmeter” award from the city of Schwabach and the cultural award of the IHK Franken Cultural Foundation.
