Sabine Ebert worked as a journalist and nonfiction author, writing, among other works, books on the regional history of Freiberg. Driven by her passion for German history, she went on to write historical novels. She became known for her debut novel, “Das Geheimnis der Hebamme” (The Midwife’s Secret), which was adapted by German broadcaster ARD as a two-part television film and staged at the Felsenbühne Rathen theater. Her five-volume “Schwert und Krone” (Sword and Crown) series focused on the era of Emperor Frederick Barbarossa and reached the bestseller lists.
