Rudolf Malter

Rudolf Malter (1937–1994) was a German philosopher and professor at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. In 1966, he received his doctorate with a historical-systematic study of Georg Hermes and the philosophy of religion. He joined the university in Mainz as an assistant in 1969 and was also involved in the Kant Society. From 1984 to 1992, he served as president of the Schopenhauer Society and edited the Schopenhauer Yearbook. From 1993, he chaired the Kant Society in Bonn. He also served as chancellor of the Society of Friends of Kant, formerly based in Königsberg.
