Rudolf Kreutner

Rudolf Kreutner (born 1954) was curator of the Schweinfurt Rückert estate from 1987 to 2018. From 1998 onward, he served as co-editor of the historical-critical edition of the works of Friedrich Rückert (1788–1866) and is regarded as a co-founder of the Rückert edition, which he initiated together with Hans Wollschläger (d. 2007). Kreutner has published numerous essays on the cultural and intellectual history of the 19th century. In 2006, he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg; in 2024, he was awarded the Friedrich Rückert Prize by the city of Schweinfurt.
