Rudolf Bussmann

Rudolf Bussmann, born in Olten in 1947, is a Swiss writer. He studied German, Romance languages and literature, and history in Basel, Paris and Berlin, and earned a doctorate from the University of Basel. After training as a secondary-school teacher, he worked at various vocational and advanced technical schools before becoming a freelance writer and editor. Bussmann has published novels, short prose and poetry, and has also worked as a translator. His works include Popcorn (2013), Eine Brücke für das Gedicht (2014), Das andere Du (2016), Ungerufen (2019) and Herbst in Nordkorea (2021). Together with Hoo Nam Seelmann, he translated prose by the South Korean author Kim Young-ha.
