Rosamunde Pilcher

Rosamunde Pilcher (1924–2019) was a British writer. Born in Cornwall, she began writing at the age of 15. After working at the Foreign Office and serving in the Women’s Royal Naval Service during the Second World War, she published short stories in magazines from the late 1940s under the pseudonym Jane Fraser. She achieved her international breakthrough in 1987 with the family novel *The Shell Seekers*. Her novels have been widely adapted for television.
