Roger Leloup was born in 1933 in Verviers, Belgium. After studying art, he assisted the cartoonist Jacques Martin on the series “Alix” from 1950. From 1955 to 1969, Leloup worked at Hergé’s studio, where he was primarily responsible for the technical details in “The Adventures of Tintin.” He published his first original comic, “M. Bouffu,” in 1969. He became known for the adventures of Yoko Tsuno, a Japanese electronics specialist whom he created for the magazine “Spirou” in 1970.
