Roger Hargreaves

Charles Roger Hargreaves (1935–1988) was a British children’s author and illustrator. Before publishing his books, he worked as a copywriter and creative director at a London advertising agency. He became widely known for the “Mr. Men Little Miss” series, which he wrote and illustrated and which began in 1971. By the time of his death, he had created more than 80 different characters.
