Roddy Doyle

Roddy Doyle, born in Dublin in 1958, is an Irish writer and screenwriter. He studied English and geography and worked as a teacher for many years before devoting himself entirely to writing in 1993. His novel Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha won the Booker Prize. Among his best-known novels are The Commitments, The Snapper and The Van, all of which were adapted for film.
