Roberto Simanowski (born 1963) is a cultural and media scholar and media philosopher. He studied literature and history at Friedrich Schiller University Jena and taught at universities in the United States, Hong Kong and Switzerland. His research focused on the theory, history and aesthetics of digital media, as well as intermediality, narrativity and interculturality. His book “Todesalgorithmus. Das Dilemma der künstlichen Intelligenz” received the Tractatus Prize from Philosophicum Lech in 2020.
