Robert Swindells

Robert Swindells was born in 1939 in Bradford, England. He was an English author of children’s and young adult fiction. After leaving school, he worked as a newspaper proofreader and served for three years in the Royal Air Force, including two years in Germany. In 1969, he began training as a teacher and taught until 1980 while also writing. He then became a full-time author and received numerous awards for his work. His novel *Stone Cold*, which deals with homelessness, was adapted into a BBC television series.
