Robert James Waller

Robert James Waller was born in Iowa in 1939. He taught business mathematics at the University of Northern Iowa for many years before becoming a writer. His debut novel, “The Bridges of Madison County,” was published in 1992 and became an international bestseller. His second novel, “The Lovers of Cedar Bend,” also reached a wide readership and remained at the top of The New York Times bestseller list for several months.
