Robert Cohen

Robert Cohen was born in Zurich in 1941. He studied at the French film school IDHEC in Paris and subsequently worked for Topic Film in Zurich, where he made industrial, advertising, and television films that received several awards. After studying German literature, he taught German literature at New York University until 2012. Cohen published scholarly works on twentieth-century German literature, including several monographs on Peter Weiss, and edited works by Peter Weiss and Anna Seghers. As a writer, he published the novels Exil der frechen Frauen (2009), Die Unbeschwerten (2010), and Der Vorgang Benario (2016). In 2013, he edited the correspondence between Olga Benario and Luis Carlos Prestes.
