Richard Yates

Richard Yates (1926–1992) was an American writer. Born in Yonkers, New York, he published his debut novel, *Revolutionary Road*, in 1961. The award-winning novel was adapted for film in 2009 by Sam Mendes, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. His other novels include *A Special Providence*, *A Good School*, and *Cold Spring Harbor*, his last completed novel.
