Richard Sennett is a sociologist and historian. He taught at the London School of Economics and New York University. His notable works include *The Corrosion of Character* (German: *Der flexible Mensch*), *The Craftsman* (2008), *Together* (2012), and *Building and Dwelling: Ethics for the City* (German: *Die offene Stadt*, 2019). The latter three books form his Homo Faber trilogy.
