Richard Coles

Richard Coles studied theology at King's College London and initially wrote several nonfiction books. He turned to crime fiction with *The Rector's Daughter* (*Der Tote in der Dorfkirche*). He also became known as a member of the pop duo The Communards, with whom he had a number-one hit, and for appearing on the dance show *Strictly Come Dancing*. Coles served for many years as parish priest of St Mary the Virgin in Finedon, Northamptonshire.
