Richard Bach

Richard Bach was born in 1935 in Oak Park, Illinois. He discovered his passion for flying at the age of seventeen and was trained as a jet pilot at eighteen. He later worked as an air-show pilot and flight instructor and published hundreds of essays about aviation. His first book, *Jonathan Livingston Seagull*, became a worldwide success.
