Renato Solmi

Renato Solmi (1927–2015) was born in Turin. He completed his studies in Greek history with a thesis on Plato in Sicily. From 1952, he attended lectures by Theodor Ador and Max Horkheimer. Solmi worked for the Einaudi publishing house until 1963. He subsequently worked as a Germanist, freelance translator—including of works by Walter Benjamin—author, and teacher.
