Reinhold Beckmann

Reinhold Beckmann (born 1956 in Twistringen, Germany) is a journalist and musician. He began his television career at WDR and later worked for commercial broadcasters before presenting the Bundesliga Sportschau on ARD for around two decades. From 1999 to 2008, he hosted the political and social affairs talk show “Beckmann.” His work in sports broadcasting and television entertainment and interviews earned him, among other honors, the German Television Award and the Goldene Kamera. In 1999, he founded NestWerk e.V., an initiative supporting disadvantaged children and young people in Hamburg; in 2008, he received the Federal Cross of Merit for his social commitment. His books include “Erzähl doch mal von früher. Loki Schmidt im Gespräch mit Reinhold Beckmann” (2008).
