Reiner Ruffing

Reiner Ruffing was born in Homburg an der Saar in 1955. He studied at the University of Mannheim and the Free University of Berlin, where he received his doctorate in 1992. He worked as a lecturer in political theory at the Otto Suhr Institute, taught in adult and teacher education, and was a secondary-school teacher of German, social studies, ethics, and philosophy. He also worked as an educational consultant and for educational publishers. Ruffing published numerous textbooks and nonfiction works on philosophy, including Introduction to the History of Philosophy, The Philosophical Toolbox, and Understanding Hegel.
