Raja Shehadeh

Raja Shehadeh (born 1951 in Ramallah) is a Palestinian lawyer and writer. He studied literature in Beirut and law in London. In 1979, he founded the human-rights organization Al-Haq, originally known as Law in the Service of Man. His first book, »The Third Way: A Journal of Life in the West Bank«, was published in 1982. His later works include »Palestinian Walks«, which won the Orwell Prize in 2008. »We Could Have Been Friends, My Father and I« was shortlisted for the National Book Award in 2023.
