Rainer Nickel

Rainer Nickel (born 1940) is a German classical philologist and scholar of classics education. He received his doctorate from the Free University of Berlin in 1970. After teaching Latin and Greek at various secondary schools, he served for around two decades as headmaster of the Max Planck Gymnasium in Göttingen. He later taught the didactics of classical languages at the University of Marburg.
