Rainer Bayreuther (born 1967) is a musicologist, philosopher and theologian. He has taught, among other places, in Freiburg, Frankfurt am Main, Bayreuth and at the Trossingen University of Music, where his work also included Sound Studies. Bayreuther was a fellow at the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald and held a visiting professorship at Leuphana University Lüneburg. He has published several books.
