Rainer Bauer

Rainer Bauer, born in 1955, was born and raised in Stuttgart. From 1977 to 1985, he studied social sciences and psychology in Göttingen. He subsequently worked as a computer scientist in Switzerland. In 2008, he founded the Voltaire Foundation, dedicated to promoting the study of Voltaire’s life and work in Germany. Its projects have included a website on Voltaire’s correspondence and new editions of selected works by the French Enlightenment writer.
