Prof. Dr. med. Franz Kainer

Prof. Dr. med. Franz Kainer was born in Lind, Austria. After graduating from the Humanistisches Gymnasium in Vienna-Hietzing, he studied human medicine at Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz, where he received his doctorate in 1980. His medical training included surgery at the Unfallkrankenhaus Graz and internal medicine at the Krankenhaus der Barmherzigen Brüder Graz/Eggenberg before he specialized in gynecology and obstetrics. From 2004, he headed the perinatal center in Munich. In December 2012, he took over the leadership of the Department of Obstetrics and Prenatal Medicine at Klinikum Hallerwiese in Nuremberg. Kainer is the father of three children.
