Piergiorgio Pulixi was born in Cagliari, Sardinia, in 1982. Before becoming a writer, he worked as a bookseller; Stephen King’s memoir »On Writing« encouraged him to pursue a literary career. Pulixi studied under Italian crime writer Massimo Carlotto and was a member of Mama Sabot, a writers’ collective founded by Carlotto. He has published several crime novels, many of which have received literary awards. In 2019, he won the Premio Giorgio Scerbanenco, one of Italy’s most prestigious crime-fiction prizes, for »The Island of Souls«.
