Philippe Fix was born in 1937 in Grendelbruch, Alsace. He studied at the École supérieure des arts décoratifs in Strasbourg and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He illustrated numerous children’s books and created the French comic character Chou-Chou, which became widely popular among children in France.
