Petr Borkovec, born in 1970 in Louňovice pod Blaníkem in Central Bohemia, is a Czech author. He published poetry, short stories, and texts for children, as well as numerous translations of twentieth-century Russian poetry. Together with the philologist Matyáš Havrda, he translated ancient dramas, including works for the National Theatre in Prague. His works published in German include the poetry collections “Feldarbeit” (2001), “Nadelbuch” (2004), “Fünfter November und andere Tage” (2006), and “Liebesgedichte” (2014), as well as the story collection “Lido di Dante” (2018).
