Peter Tremayne is the pseudonym of a historian whose work focuses on Celtic culture. Under this name, he published historical crime novels set in the seventh century and featuring the investigator Sister Fidelma, also known as Lady Fidelma. The series combines crime fiction with insights into Celtic and early medieval history. In 2002, Peter Tremayne was appointed a lifelong honorary member of the Irish Literary Society in recognition of the series’ international success.
