Peter Rosegger

Peter Rosegger (1843–1918) was an Austrian writer and poet. Born in Krieglach, he initially trained as a tailor and began writing during his apprenticeship. From 1869 onward, he worked as a freelance writer and published short stories, novels, and journalistic texts. His best-known works include *Der Gottsucher* and *Weltgift* (1901). He also edited the journal *Der Heimgarten*. In 1913, Rosegger was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
