Peter Prange

Peter Prange, born in Altena in 1955, is a German writer, screenwriter and translator. He studied German, Romance languages and philosophy in Göttingen, Perugia, Paris and Tübingen, where he completed a doctorate on the cultural and social history of the Enlightenment. He became known particularly for historical novels including Die Principessa, Die Philosophin, Der letzte Harem, Die Gottessucherin and Der Kinderpapst. His novel Das Bernstein-Amulett was adapted as a two-part television film for ARD, and Unsere wunderbaren Jahre was also adapted for television. His works have been translated into numerous languages.
