Peter Hoffmann

Peter Hoffmann was a professor of German history at McGill University in Montreal. He published extensively on the German resistance to National Socialism and the history of the July 20, 1944, plot. His best-known works include “Widerstand, Staatsstreich, Attentat,” “Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg und seine Brüder,” and “Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg. Die Biographie.” Among other distinctions, he received the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class, and the Staufer Medal in Gold from the state of Baden-Württemberg.
