Peter Fretwell

Peter Fretwell was a senior scientist at the British Antarctic Survey and is regarded as an expert on emperor penguins. He pioneered the use of satellite imagery to observe wildlife in Antarctica, helping to discover more than half of the known emperor penguin colonies. Fretwell is a member of the Royal Geographical Society. In 2020, he co-authored the award-winning Antarctic Atlas with his wife.
