Perry Chafe was born in 1969 in Petty Harbour, a small fishing community in Newfoundland. After studying at Memorial University of Newfoundland, he worked as a television producer, screenwriter and songwriter. His debut novel, "Sommer auf Perigo Island," became a bestseller in Canada.
