Pep Lijnders, born in 1983 in Broekhuizen, the Netherlands, began his coaching career in 2002 as a technical coach at PSV Eindhoven. After working at FC Porto, including with the first team, he joined Liverpool in 2014. He initially coached Liverpool’s under-18 side before becoming an assistant coach. With Liverpool, he won the UEFA Champions League in 2019 and the English league title in 2020, the club’s first championship in 30 years.
