Peer Martin

Peer Martin, born in Hanover in 1968, studied social pedagogy and worked for several years with young people in Berlin, Brandenburg, and Western Pomerania. His experiences in youth work and conversations with a Syrian friend inspired his first novel, *Sommer unter schwarzen Flügeln*. Together with *Winter so weit* and *Feuerfrühling*, it forms the Calvin and Nuri cycle. Martin’s books received, among other honors, the German Youth Literature Prize in 2016 and the Friedolin Youth Book Award.
