Paula Bulling

Paula Bulling, born in Berlin in 1986, studied illustration at the Hochschule für Kunst und Design in Halle an der Saale. Her first graphic novel, “Im Land der Frühaufsteher,” was published by avant-verlag in 2012. In it, she documented conversations with refugees in Saxony-Anhalt. Bulling subsequently worked as a freelance illustrator and comics artist. Her short stories appeared in anthologies and magazines including Samandal (Lebanon), Kus (Latvia), and Strapazin (Switzerland). She also translated comics from French, including Zeina Abirached’s “A Game for Swallows.”
