Paul Lascaux

Paul Lascaux is the pen name of Swiss author Paul Ott, born in 1955. Ott studied German and art history and worked as a journalist. He published mainly crime novels and crime stories, including the culinary crime series featuring the Müller & Himmel detective agency. He also edited crime anthologies and initiated the Swiss crime festival “Mordstage.” In 2020, he received the special prize of the German-language Literature Commission of the Canton of Bern. In 2024, the Syndikat awarded him an honorary Glauser for his contributions to crime literature. The Swiss Crime Archive Grenchen, which he initiated, opened in 2021.
