Paul Hoepner was born on 6 April 1982, five minutes after his twin brother. After completing secondary school, he spent a year in Australia and then studied media design in Cologne. In Berlin, he worked as a web and app concept designer. In 2015, he completed the Human Factors program at Technische Universität Berlin.
