Paul B. Preciado (born 1970 in Burgos, Spain) is a Spanish philosopher, queer theorist, and curator. Preciado is regarded as an important voice in gender studies and the philosophy of the body. Notable works include Countersexual Manifesto, Testo Junkie: Sex, Drugs, and Biopolitics in the Pharmacopornographic Era, Pornotopia: Architecture, Sexuality, and Multimedia in the Playboy, and An Apartment on Uranus. Pornotopia received France’s Prix Sade. Preciado served as research director at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona (MACBA), directed its Independent Studies Program from 2011 to 2014, and curated the public programs of documenta 14 in Kassel and Athens from 2014 to 2017. Preciado also taught philosophy of the body and transfeminist theory.
