Patrick McDonnell, born in 1956, is an American comic artist and illustrator. He worked for the New York Times and contributed illustrations to magazines including Sports Illustrated, Reader’s Digest, Forbes, and Time. He is also known for children’s books featuring the cat Mooch, including The Best Present, I Hug You!, and Come Along!. The Best Present appeared on the New York Times bestseller list in the United States.
